Important Notes

This is the first X_TRADER® 7.17 release for use in either MultiBroker or non-MultiBroker environments.

Significant changes have been made to the Autospreader® configuration window and this includes the deprecation of properties that may be involved in your Autospreader® strategies. Please refer to Autospreader Features and Parameter Changes in X_TRADER® 7.17 for more details.

The Stopwatch Block in ADL has been re-designed for greater flexibility and efficiency. If an ADL strategy contains a previous version of the Stopwatch Block, TT strongly recommends replacing the block with a newer version provided in X_TRADER® 7.17 (or higher). Please refer to Updating the ADL Stopwatch Block for important details.

Algo SE 7.17 has been enhanced to support the ability to select Broker (in MultiBroker mode), Customer Default, and Order Gateway for each Instrument Block present in an algo. If you log into multiple flavors of a Gateway, you will need to specify the Gateway of your choice for some Instrument Blocks on your algo templates and re-save them.

For convenience, the release notes from the initial X_TRADER® 7.17.0 MultiBroker-only release have been included below.

Why Should I Upgrade?

X_TRADER 7.17.1 includes critical fixes for issues found in the field, along with significant enhancements to existing functionality. The short video Reasons to Upgrade to X_TRADER® 7.17 presents a high level overview of the new functionality. Some highlights include:
  1. MultiBroker support
In conjunction with a new MultiBroker ASP environment in TTNET, X_TRADER® 7.17 users can route orders to multiple brokers from the same X_TRADER® instance. They can also view and filter working orders, fills and positions by broker. See the MultiBroker Overview for more details.

  2. Autospreader enhancements
X_TRADER® 7.17 introduces a new Autospreader® configuration window with the ability to create custom spread formulas and an MD Trader® spread preview ladder. The new configuration has been streamlined and several parameter settings have been removed or relocated in X_TRADER. Please refer to Autospreader Features and Parameter Changes in X_TRADER® 7.17 for more details.

  3. Market-based X_TRADER
Beginning in X_TRADER® 7.17, TT gateway 'flavors' are no longer part of the product/contract selection.

  4. Routing Rules
Users can now create routing rules with pre-defined order portions, and have X_TRADER® split a single order into multiple orders across multiple brokers or accounts. See the Routing Rules Overview for more information.

  5. Multiple logins
A single user can now log into the same TT Gateway flavor with multiple sets of exchange credentials. Alias names can be defined in TT User Setup to identify the different connections.

  6. 'Snap' windows
X_TRADER® 7.17 windows 'snap' to adjacent windows for alignment and to consolidate a group of windows together as a block. Window title bar captions can be toggeled on/off to increase useable screen real estate.

  7. Auto-export Fills
Fills can be automatically exported throughout the day based on scheduled time intervals.

  8. Time and Sales
A floating Time and Sales window can be launched from the Market Window, displaying data from the currently selected contract. In addition, displayed trade quantities can be accumulated within a set time interval when multiple trades occur at the same price level.

  9. TT Messaging 7.1
Included in this package is the new multi-threaded TT Messaging component, which provides significant performance and scalability improvements. See the TTM 7.1 Release Notes for more details.

TT strongly encourages all customers to upgrade to this new version.

Installation Notes

When upgrading from existing versions, TT strongly recommends making a backup of your workspaces in a separate location.
  1. X_TRADER® 7.17.x only supports workspaces from previous versions of X_TRADER® 7.12.x and X_TRADER® 7.11x.

  2. X_TRADER® 7.17.x only supports upgrades from previous versions of X_TRADER® 7.12.x and X_TRADER® 7.11x.

  3. If your current software is older than X_TRADER® 7.11.x, TT recommends uninstalling your existing old software and performing a clean install.

Enhancements

  1. General
    1. Modified X_TRADER® to be 'market based', meaning that TT gateway flavors will not be exposed to the user for market data. When selecting and displaying contracts in various windows, the user will only see the market that is associated with the contract, e.g. CME ES June 13 instead of CME-A ES June 13. (Ref 143143)

    2. Added support for the new internal Order API that separates routing of an order from the definition of the order. (Ref 143189)

    3. Added support for the new MultiBroker ASP environment in TTNET. (Ref 164443)

  2. ADL
    1. Added the following to support MultiBroker functionality related to ADL: (1) Market-based Instrument Explorer (no longer TT gateway flavor based); (2) Broker selection on the Algo Dashboard and the Algo Variable Dialogue to allow an algo to route orders to multiple Brokers (note: child orders for an Algo Definition owned and deployed by a broker will be automatically routed through that broker). (Ref 193092)

    2. The Stopwatch Block has been enhanced for greater flexibility and efficiency, and it will operate in the following manner:
      1. When the block receives a discrete event message, it will evaluate the "Stop Time" formula (depicted in its internal green canvas) to get the stop time in milliseconds.
      2. After the specified stop time, the block will output a discrete event message.
      3. The block must be reset with a new incoming discrete event message if repetition is needed.
NOTE: If a strategy contains a previous version of the Stopwatch Block, TT strongly recommends replacing it with a newer version of the block provided in X_TRADER® 7.17 (or higher). (Ref 205330)

    3. Added the discrete outputs "Sniper Leg Add OK" and "Sniper Leg Fills" to the Autospreader® SE Order Block to support the Autospreader® Sniper order type. (Ref 210457)

    4. Enhanced Stopwatch Block to better support backward compatibility. (Ref 219946)

  4. Algo Engine and Proxy
    1. Added the ability to select one or more individual users from an auto-generated list when sharing an Algo Definition. (Ref 210980)

  6. Audit Trail
    1. Added a 'Broker' column that displays when logged into the MultiBroker environment. (Ref 163065)

    4. Added an 'Exch Cred' (Exchange Credentials) column to the Audit Trail. (Ref 200820)
