TT User Setup

7.17.22.4

Released: Mar 20, 2014 File Size: 0

No notes available.

Important Notes

If you are currently using TT Update to manage TT Client applications, prior to upgrading you must add TTUpdateEnabled=1 to the TTUserSetupServer.ini file on the TT User Setup servers. Failing to do so will disable TT Update for all TT client applications.

Why Should I Upgrade?

This release improves speed and reliability by optimizing the TT User Setup server's responsiveness in servicing its own clients, as well as requests from other clients and servers running in the trading environment. In addition, this release introduces support for the following features:
  • Order Passing: The Order Passing feature (currently in Beta, and available only in Non-MultiBroker) allows members of one user group to pass one or more working orders to members of another user group without the need to share an order book. Order Passing requires X_TRADER® 7.17.10 or higher, TT User Setup 7.4.40 or 7.17.20 or higher, and TT Gateway versions 7.17.30 or higher. For information about Order Passing in X_TRADER® refer to the Order Passing Upcoming Initiative page. For information about configuring user groups to pass orders, refer to the User Group Administration topic in the TT User Setup Help.

  • Preventing Group Administrators from Managing Accounts: FCMs taking advantage of account-based risk can now provide their clients with the ability to manage their own traders (including trader-based risk), while the FCMs maintain exclusive risk management control of the clients' accounts or account groups. Note: This feature is not yet supported in MultiBroker.

To create an administrator that is limited to managing traders and trader-based risk, create a group administrator that can manage Gateway Logins, but has the new Manage accounts and broker-specific user settings option unchecked. You can also allow or prevent this administrator from creating direct trader logins, and you can limit this administrator to managing users in specific user groups.
    Once configured, this administrator can:
    • Create users, manage non-broker specific user settings, and assign existing accounts to users.
    • Create new Gateway Logins and manage risk for existing Gateway Logins.
    • Assign Gateway Logins to users. However, traders will not be able to use these Gateway Logins until an FCM administrator approves the assignment by checking the Available to User and/or Available to FIX Client

    This administrator cannot:
    • Create accounts or manage account risk limits.
    • Configure broker-specific user settings like orders-per second limits and whether or not a user is allowed to place specific kinds of orders (market, machine gun, wholesale, etc).

For more information, refer to the Creating a Group Administrator topic in the TT User Setup Help.

This release also:
  • Adds support for upcoming TT Gateway releases.
  • Introduces two TTUserSetupServer.ini parameters:
    • The TradingKillSwitchAllowed parameter can disable the Trading "kill switch" feature for an environment.
    • The DisableAutoSOD parameter can set the default state of the Gateway Login window's Disable Auto SOD setting when creating new Gateway Logins.
  • Allows brokers (in the TT MultiBroker environment) to configure whether broker and buy-side users can send quote requests. This is controlled by the RFQ setting, which is located on the user's Trade Permissions tab.
  • Adds six alpha-numeric text fields to the Users' Gateway Login Attributes window (Exchange 1, Exchange 2, ... Exchange 6). These fields will be used to support various exchange requirements, as needed (for example, to send the separate KRK Member ID that is required for users trading KRX products on Eurex).
  • Adds support to manage TT Update supported applications (currently X_TRADER® 7.17.10, X_RISK 7.17.10, TT User Setup 7.4.40, and TT User Setup 7.17.20 and higher). For more information about TT Update, refer to the TT Update Help. For information about setting Version Rules, refer to the Using Version Control Rules topic of the TT User Setup Help.
  • Fixes an issue where after upgrading to 7.17.10, the Can only create, modify, and delete orders with the following accounts checkbox on the Account Permissions tab was checked by default for TTORD traders that connect to ICE (LMA), LME, or TOCOM. Because orders to these gateways use FFT fields as the risk account, orders to ICE (LMA), LME, or TOCOM were rejected when no risk account was configured.
  • Fixes an issue where the user's GTC/GTDate orders, Machine gun orders, Staged order creation, Staged order management, and Claiming one's own staged orders options had to be enabled to be used in TT SIM mode.
  • Fixes an issue where FIX clients could not connect to a Drop-copy FIX adapter server. (7.17.21)
  • Fixes an issue where upon upgrading from 7.4.x to 7.17, account permissions were enforced too strictly for TTORD traders that share an order book with other TTORD traders. (7.17.21)
  • Fixes an issue where users using X_TRADER® 7.12 or earlier had to restart X_TRADER® to connect to gateways that were not running when TT User Setup was upgraded from 7.4.x. (7.17.22)
  • Fixes an issue where TT SIM users could cause TT User Setup servers to timeout. (7.17.22)
Note: When upgrading to this version from a 7.4.x version, refer to the TT User Setup 7.17.10 Release Notes for information about the features introduced in TT User Setup 7.17.10, important upgrade considerations, installation notes, enhancements, and fixes.

Installation Notes

When TT Update is installed on the TT User Setup client workstation (which is recommended), TT Update will automatically update the TT User Setup client to match the TT User Setup server. When TT Update is not installed on the TT User Setup client workstation, you must manually install a supported TT User Setup client. The TT User Setup 7.17.22 server is ONLY compatible with TT User Setup 7.17.0.520, 7.17.10, 7.17.12, 7.17.13, 7.17.20, 7.17.21, and 7.17.22 clients. The TT User Setup 7.17.22 client is not compatible with pre-7.17.22 TT User Setup servers.

To use the latest features, you should use the latest version of the client and server. For more information about TT Update, refer to the TT Update Help. For more information about installing TT User Setup, refer to the TT User Setup System Administration Online Help.

Enhancements

  1. General
    1. Improved speed and reliability by optimizing the TT User Setup server's responsiveness in servicing its own clients, as well as requests from other clients and servers running in the trading environment. (Ref 224313, 224306, 224312)

    2. Added support for upcoming gateway releases. (Ref 224506)

    3. Added the ability to disable the Trading "Kill Switch" feature with a TTUserSetupServer.ini setting (TradingKillSwitchAllowed). When the TradingKillSwitchAllowed setting is omitted or set to 1, the "kill switch" feature is an available option in TT User Setup. When TradingKillSwitchAllowed is set to 0 the trading "kill switch" feature is not not an available option in TT User Setup. For more information about the TradingKillSwitchAllowed TTUserSetupServer.ini parameter, refer to the TTUserSetupServer.ini File topic in the TT User Setup Administration Help. For more information about the Trading "kill switch" refer to the Disabling Trading for a Trading Environment topic in the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 226343)

  2. Account
    1. For accounts, the Avoid orders that cross option can only be set to No (do not avoid orders that cross) or Yes- Reject New (new orders are rejected if they would cross existing orders placed with this account or another account in this account group). When upgrading to this version, accounts that were configured as Yes- Cancel resting will now be changed to Reject new orders. (Ref 227363)

  3. Admin User
    1. FCMs taking advantage of account-based risk can now provide their clients with the ability to manage their own traders (including trader-based risk), while the FCMs maintain exclusive risk management control of the clients' accounts or account groups.

Once configured, this administrator can create users, manage non-broker specific user settings, and assign existing accounts to users, create new Gateway Logins and manage risk for existing Gateway Logins, and assign Gateway Logins to users. This administrator cannot create accounts, manage account risk limits, configure broker-specific user settings, or make an assigned Gateway Login available to users. For more information, refer to the Creating a Group Administrator topic in the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 227044)

  4. Client
    1. Added support for X_TRADER's Order Passing feature, which is available in X_TRADER® 7.17.10 and later. The Order Passing feature allows members of one user group to pass one or more orders to members of another user group. For more information about Order Passing in X_TRADER®, refer to the X_TRADER Help. For information about configuring user groups to pass orders, refer to the User Group Administrtion section of the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 223113)

    2. Added progress display bars to TT User Setup processes. (Ref 223236)

  5. Database
    1. The RFQ setting is now Broker Controlled (in the TT MultiBroker environment). It is unchecked by default for new buy-side users. (Ref 223565)

  6. Filtering
    1. Changed the Eurex-Persist orders drop-down option on the User's Trade Permissions tab to a checkbox (Persist all orders). Upon upgrading to this version, users that had the Persist all orders option selected, will now have the Persist all orders checkbox checked. If the user previously had User controlled selected, the checkbox will be unchecked. By default, the Persist all options checkbox will be unchecked for new users. (Ref 202613)

  7. Gateway Logins
    1. Added six alpha-numeric text fields to the Users' Gateway Login Attributes window. These fields will be used to support various exchange requirements, as needed (for example, to send send the separate KRK Member ID that is required for users trading KRX products on Eurex). For more information about these new fields, refer to the Editing a User's Gateway Login Attributes topic in the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 223234)

    2. The default state of the Disable Auto SOD setting (located on the Gateway Logins window) is now configurable in the TTUserSetupServer.ini file. When the DisableAutoSOD parameter is omitted or set to 0, Disable Auto SOD is unchecked by default when creating a Gateway Login. When DisableAutoSOD is set to 1, Disable Auto SOD is checked by default when creating a Gateway Login. This setting does not affect existing Gateway Logins.

For more information about the DisableAutoSOD TTUserSetupServer.ini setting, refer to theTTUserSetup.ini topic in the TT User Setup System Administration Help. For more information about the Disable Auto SOD Gateway Login setting, refer to the Disabling Start of Day Records topic in the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 224716)

    3. Eurex Gateway Logins must include an Operator ID. TT User Setup enforces this when assigning a Gateway Login to a user. (Ref 226690)

  8. Installation
    1. Added support for TT Update.

TT Update is supported with TT User Setup 7.4.40, TT User Setup 7.17.20, X_TRADER® 7.17.10, and X_RISK 7.17.10 and higher. With TT Update installed on client workstations, TT User Setup administrators can create version rules that determine which TT software versions are available to their users. Once TT User Setup administrators have installed TT Update on their TT User Setup client machines, TT Update also automatically updates TT User Setup clients to a version that matches the TT User Setup server. For more information about TT Update, refer to the TT Update Help. For information about setting Version Rules, refer to the Using Version Control Rules topic of the TT User Setup Help. (Ref 226302)

  10. Server
    1. Added a field to the TTUserSetupServer.ini file that allows administrators to enable or disable TT Update by default. To enable TT Update, add the TTUpdateEnabled=1parameter to the TTUserSetupServer.ini file on the TT User Setup servers. If . TTUpdateEnabled is omitted or set to 0, TT Update will be disabled for the environment. (Ref 227709)

  11. Users
    1. Added support for OSE Product Group Permissions. (Ref 226462)

    2. Added support for LSE Product Group Permissions. (Ref 227472)

Fixes

  1. General
    1. Fixed an issue where the Gateway Logins window was not displaying properly when scaled to 125%. (Ref 223095)

  2. Gateway Logins
    1. Fixed an issue where the following special characters were allowed in the Gateway Login Member/Group/Trader IDs: \ / : * " < > | % and hidden control characters. These characters are now prohibited for new Gateway Logins. (Ref 227325)

  3. Product Limit
    1. Fixed an issue where Inter-product strategies in account-based risk did not list all of the available product types. (Ref 226141)

  4. Reports
    1. Fixed an issue where the Gateway/Server Versions Report recorded each time an individual server was upgraded to a new version of software for the same Gateway flavor. Instead, the report now only lists the latest version of software installed. Multiple entries from the same IP Address should only occur if the Gateway Flavor changes. (Ref 225188)

  5. Server
    1. Fixed an issue where a FIX client could not connect to a drop-copy FIX adapter server. (Ref 227470)

    2. Fixed an issue where TT SIM users could cause TT User Setup servers to timeout. (Ref 227698)

    3. Fixed an issue where users using X_TRADER® 7.12 or earlier had to restart X_TRADER® to connect to gateways that were not running when TT User Setup was upgraded from 7.4.x. (Ref 227699)

  6. Tiered Admin
    1. Fixed an issue where view-only Broker administrators could not view settings for buy-side users. (Ref 226713)

  7. TTORD Users
    1. Fixed an issue where upon upgrading, TTORD traders that connect to ICE (LMA), LME, or TOCOM were prevented from trading these gateways until an administrator updated account permissions. (Ref 224989)

    2. Fixed an issue where upon upgrading from 7.4.x, a TTORD trader that shared an order book with another TTORD trader was restricted to only the account(s) associated with their 7.4 Gateway Logins. This restriction prevented the TTORD trader from changing orders placed by other traders in their order book. Now when upgrading from 7.4, the Can only create, modify, and delete orders with the following accounts checkbox is unchecked for TTORD traders who share an order book with other TTORD traders.

Note: Customers who have already upgraded to 7.17 can fix this issue by manually unchecking the TTORD user's Can only create, modify, and delete orders with the following accounts checkbox, or by adding all of the required accounts to the trader's account permissions list. (Ref 227498)

  8. Users
    1. Fixed an issue where the user's GTC/GTDate orders, Machine gun orders, Staged order creation, Staged order management, and Claiming one's own staged orders options had to be enabled to be used in TT SIM mode. These options are now automatically available in TT SIM mode, even if unchecked. (Ref 223177)

Known Issues

  1. Reports
    1. Logging onto X_TRADER® increments the TT API entry in the TT Product Version/User Usage report by two. TT API should not be listed at all unless the client specifically logged into TT API. (Ref 220131)

    2. The "Most recent X_TRADER® Version" report appears to list multiple entries for the same user and IP address. However, the duplicate entry is actually the X_STUDY® version and can be disregarded. (Ref 227295)

  2. Users
    1. TT User Setup administrators with Live login allowed and TT SIM login allowed both unchecked cannot log into TT User Setup, and FIX Adapter Clients with Live login allowed and TT SIM login allowed both unchecked cannot log into FIX Adapter servers. Future versions will not require either of these checkboxes to log into TT User Setup or FIX Adapters, respectively. The workaround is to check one of these checkboxes for TT User Setup administrators and FIX Adapter Clients. (Ref 219842, 222720)
